Review For
Dragon Con '05

I call this a review, but it seems that I do more ranting about my problems and why I am so slow about getting my site updated. This year I still have the problem of starting late, but I also have the excuse of the time it takes to get 457 individual photos put on my site.  This time last year I started at about the same time but was done two weeks earlier.

One problem I had last year was that mid Con My friends and I discovered that my primary shooting lens, a Nikkor 35-70 f 2.8 lens, had a fungus in its elements. I was able to get most of those fungal artifacts out, but lost a lot of other image adjustment capabilities. On some of them, you will see flare clouds I wasn't able to get rid of.

I still intend to bring my Nomad outfit back out again. It was so much easier with an outfit designed around carrying camera and video equipment.

The site is still organized by categories. For parents, I still warn that the Dawn and So I'm Weak categories sgould be perused by adults to make certain that the images are acceptable for their own standards. All images on my site are taken in public venues and meet most local standards. I do, however, realize that it is the right of parents to enforce their own level of vigilance.

Oh, yes, the review.

I had fun, always. Shooting backstage at the Dawn Lookalike Contest was the usual chaos. For some odd reason, the Masquerade Ball was like watching paint dry (a first) which caused me to go up to the balcony to set up and shoot the stage. The stage was well lit for the front half, but poorly lit on the back half. I was glad to see the Masquerade come back to the Hyatt.
